ArmInfo.According to the UN report in Armenia at the moment there are 2.93 million people. However, by 2050 the population of Armenia will decrease to 2.7  million, and in 2100 it will be only 1.8 million people.

Against this background, it is noteworthy that President Serzh  Sargsyan made a statement at the first meeting of the National  Assembly of the sixth convocation in which he stressed that by 2040  the population of the Republic should be 4 million. The program of  the new government also has a whole section aimed at improving the  demographic but, apparently, according to UN experts, these measures  and aspirations are not sufficient to increase the number of the  country's population.

To note, according to the UN report, the world population will reach  almost 10 billion people by 2050, and by 2100 will exceed the 11  billion mark. According to the document, now on the planet live about  7.4 billion people. The world population is projected to increase by  more than a billion people over the next 13 years, reaching 8.6  billion in 2030, and will then increase to 9.8 billion in 2050 and  11.2 billion in 2100.

It is noted that the population of the Earth increases mainly in  account for 47 least developed countries, where the birth rate is 4.3  children per woman. Now in these states lives one billion, and in 33  years will be 1.9 billion. During the same period, the total  population of 26 African countries will double. The trend will  continue even though the world's fertility rate associated with  population aging will continue to decline.  Also, experts predict  that the number of Indians will exceed the number of Chinese by about  2024, while Nigerians will "bypass" Americans by 2050.

The population of Georgia will also decrease from 3.5 million to 2.9  million, from 9.8 million to 9.5 million from Azerbaijan, and from  144 million to 124 million from Russia. The population of Turkey, on  the contrary, will grow to 85.7 million.
