ArmInfo. The main task of the security zone creation on the Jordan- Syrian border by the USA is the prevention of creation of Shiite, pro-Iranian belt from Tehran to Beirut, Evgeni Satanovski, President of Independent Scientific Center "Middle East Institute" considers.
"The details of the given security zone were being discussed during the recent Saudi consultation of President trump with the King of Jordan Abdullah II. In particular, as an element of entire operation of Western Coalition forces, the plan of intervention of Jordan troops into Syria was approved. Within the given operation, the clearing of these territories is envisaged from the Shiite militia of the Corps of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria to minimize Tehran's influence. Of course, Saudi Arabia actively finances the operation", the expert noted.
Satanovski mentions that according to the common plan it is assumed to relocate two battalions of Jordanian special forces within the purpose to support Syrian rebels. Special forces troops, after being relocated to near-border region, will get to training several hundreds of Syrian oppositionists. After which the operations should be implemented by Syrian free Army, Omari Brigade and Revolutionar Army Commandos.
The material-technical support of the operation is to be provided by Israel, which ships armaments and weapons to the coalition, which became possible due to recent mediation of USA. Besides, a special American-German division is relocated to Jordan from Iraq, and hundred German helicopters. Soon this division will be strengthened by another group to come from Injirlick.
Of course, this security zone will not conform to the Russian zones of de-escalation,where any flights and military forces are planned to be stopped. But the struggle with ISIS and Jebhad An Nusra will be continued, within simultaneous annihilation of terrorists by Bashar Asad's army.
Satanovski thinks that USA is capable to use Russia for implementation of own plans. According to him, this new tactics will be of a great surprise for Russia, Tehran and Damask, considering the total absence of counteraction algorithm.
