Baku blames Armenian MFA for incompetence

Azerbaijani MFA press service head Hikmet Hajiev commented on Armenia's Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian's statement made yesterday saying that the UN SC resolutions were aimed at settling peace in the zone of Karabakh  conflict and not at handover of the territories which are under Armenian control.  

Touching upon the given statement Hajiev blamed Armenian Foreign  Ministry for incompetence. "There is an impression that either  Armenian MFA is not familiar to UN SC resolutions and to the Helsinki  Final Act, or they specially distort their essence.  Nobody has the  right to distort the essence of the UN resolutions, which are  principle bases for the settlement of the conflict, condemn the use  force against Azerbaijan, occupation of its territories, recognize  the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, once  again confirm the inviolability of internationally recognized  borders. It is emphasized that the change of internationally  recognized borders through force is unacceptable. In the mentioned  resolutions is said that the Artsakh region is an integral part of  Azerbaijan. These documents demand immediate, full and unconditional  withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the occupied territories", APA  cit Hajiev. Hajiev also reminded to Nalbandian about the OSCE MG  statement on the level of the heads of states co-chairs of July 10,  2009 in Acquile and of June 26 2010 in Moscow. "In these statements  of OSCE MG is said the in accordance with the elements modified on  the basis of Helsinki Final Act, the first stage supposes the return  of the territories around Artsakh.  The first point of the renewed  Madrid Principles supposes stages settlement of the conflict. The  essence of the St. Petersburg meeting and the essence of the document  which is on the table of negotiations is about that", Hajiev said. 

To note, in the eve, Nalbandian, touching upon the statement of the  Azeri colleague Elmar Mammedyarov that a new document is now on the  negotiation table, noted that it is the fantasies of Baku, as at the  last Moscow meeting no new document was discussed but the text for  Media, which was discussed by the ministers in the presence of  mediators. Speaking about the UN SC resolutions Nalbandian said that  they were aimed at cease of military actions in the zone of Karabakh  conflict, it was not about the essence of the negotiation process.  Nalbandian was recalling Minsk intermediaries all the time.
