ArmInfo.The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the convening of an emergency meeting in connection with the attacks on the parliament and the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in Tehran.
As IRNA reports, media consultant of IRI Interior Minister Riholla Jomei wrote on his Twitter that Internal Affairs Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli ordered an emergency meeting in Tehran.
To note, armed people opened fire in the Iranian parliament building around 10:30 local time (09:00 Moscow time) and took several people hostage. The attackers were armed with a pistol and two AK-47. The attackers are blocked, the building is surrounded by policemen. A special operation to seize the building began. Director of Public Relations of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the situation in parliament is under control. According to him, as a result of shooting in the parliament, one person was killed, one of the members of the parliament's security was injured in the ankle and two others were wounded in the chest and arms. He also added that the open meeting of the parliament is still ongoing and the meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is taking place on this issue.
Earlier it was also reported about shooting in the territory of Imam Khomeini's mausoleum in the south of Tehran. According to local media, the suicide bomber blew up the explosives that were on him. As a result of the incident, one person was killed, at least five were injured. Iranian media also reported an explosion at the Imam Khomeini metro station. No information available about the victims yet.
