ArmInfo. Special Investigation Service completed the investigation on the criminal case on Police Patrol Building seizure in respect to 18 members of Sasna Tsrer group.
According to the information of the press office of Special Investigations Service, in the result of impartial and comprehensive investigation of the case it was fetched out that the members of armed group Tigran Sargsyan, Hovhannes Vardanyan, Aram Hakobyan, Vardan Geravetyan, Sergey Kujreghyan, Gevorg iritsyan, Tigran manukyan, Toros Torosyan, Atrhur Melkonyan, Arthur Soghomonyan, Garnick Hovakimyan, Araik Hakobyan, Martiros Kobyan, AramManoukyan, Tatul Tamrazyan, Hovhannes Haroutyunyan and others, having a goal to make the authorities to release Jirair Sephilyan, arrested due to charges in heavy crimes, on July 17, 2016 attacked the Armenian Police Patrol Service building. Using KRAZ heavy truck, the persons mentioned broke the gates of PPS yard and a part of the wall, and using infantry weapons, captures hostages - PPS officers and medical employees. After that they started to demand designations of several officials and release of Jirair Sephilyan and some other persons. Two more persons - Vardges Gevorgyan and Manvel Atoyan, tried to join the group mentioned as well. The members of the group broke Acba Credit Agricole Bank ATM machine and stole an amount forming over AMD 14.300.000. The amount of three hundred thousands was found in Atrhur Soghomonyan's shoes. The members of the group burned 4 civil and 1 military vehicle, which were the assets of the Police Patrol Service.
All the members of the group were proposed charges in accordance to appropriate Articles of RA Criminal code, the statement of Special Investigations Service reads.
To remind, earlier in April SIS informed that the case investigation is completed in respect to 15 members of Sasna Tsrer group.
To recall, on July 17, Artsakh war hero Zhirayr Sefilyan's armed supporters, who are calling themselves "Sasna Tsrer" (The Daredevils of Sasun), seized the building of the Patrol-Guard Service Regiment in Erebuni district of Yerevan. The group was controlling the building for two weeks and surrendered on July 31. During the events 3 law enforcers were killed, another 6 were injured. Many of the group members were also wounded during firefighting. 31 members of the group were arrested under the case.
