ArmInfo. "Yelk" bloc submitted application in CEC of Armenia demanding to address the court to recognize RPA`s registration for Yerevan Elders Council election invalid. The newly elected deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia of the 6th convocation from the "Yelk" bloc, human rights activist Artak Zeynalyan stated this in the CEC on May 12 in his interview with journalists. The basis for the statement of the bloc, according to him, was the fact that yesterday a distribution of electoral bribery was disclosed in one of the RPA headquarters.
"Ballot papers are to be provided to quarter electoral commissions only tomorrow, however yesterday there were papers in turnover yesterday, on which the RPA line was marked already. Those papers were spread among voters who were receiving bribes amounting 20thousand AMD", Zaynalyan noted.
The application submitted, according to the activist, cannot be considered later then today. "We demanded CEC to guarantee and provide our right for court availability and make final decision in connection with our application not later then 15:00, so that we could appeal in the Administrative Court. We all are confident that CEC is not an effective measure for the legal protection. Therefore, we will address court in any case if CEC does no call for meeting by 14:00", Zaynalyan added.
To note, yesterday in the evening, "Haykakan Jamanak" paper journalist Anna Zakharyan, on the way home, noticed that in the Street Kurkhinyan of Ararat quarter near the pre electoral HQ of the candidate for Major from RPA Taron Margaryan, electoral bribes were being given in the amount of 20 thousand AMD, and also ballot papers were the RPA line was already marked. When the journalist start to record the happening on her phone, the employees of the HQ approached to her, took the phone by force and deleted not only the video but the contacts and mails as well without any permission, and returned the phone after cleaning the fingerprints.
However, the pre electoral HQ of RPA made a statement in which they denied the given information. Nevertheless, Special Investigation Service opened a case on the given publication.
