ArmInfo. Armenian State Food Safety Service of agriculture, according to the results of acquainting raids of the previous week, also cooperating with other state entities, suppressed Azerbaijan apples? sale for more than 500kg in Yerevan's selling spots and in a number of districts.
"In accordance with law on food products safety, found lot is considered harmful, as it did not have correspondent certificates of safety. The implementation of dangerous lot is forbidden, it is ordered to be thrown away", the department?s press-service informs. State Service also withdrawn the samples and passed expertise on Azerbaijani apples. As a result, there were no registered deviations from foreseen indexes (particularly, deltamethrin, dimethoad, metalaxyl, cypermethrin, DDT and its metabolites).
Earlier, on April 23 during three days the regulator conducted a research in selling points of Yerevan and areas of the country. Already on April 25 it became clear that apples of Azerbaijani origin are to be utilized, as they did not have correspondent certificates of safety. As Karapetyan stated, apples from Azerbaijan could be imported to Armenia illegally, by small-scale importers, considering, that this product is not counted at the base.
