Expert: At the background of Syrian actions escalations Karabakh  process changes are hardly probable

ArmInfo. Ruben Safrastyan, the Director of Armenian Institute of Oriental Studies, thinks at the background of Syrian actions escalation Karabakh process changes are  improbable, he stated during the press conference in Yerevan.

According to the expert, global power, particularly, Russian and USA  OSCE Minsk Group co-Chairs intensified the attention to Syrian issue.  "Thus, there could be no serious and sharp changes", the expert  stressed. At the same time, he thinks that Turkey, which has  demonstrated unsustainable  position in Syrian conflict, is not  interested in the escalation of the situation at Karabakh conflict  zone as well. "Azerbaijan will not go for any bellicose steps without  Turkish support and will keep the actual position", the Director of  the Institute stated.

Safrastyan also thinks that Syrian escalations are a serious  challenge for Russia, which, in his opinion, is being tensed from the  front, capsulated by the US President Donald Trump. "In comparison to  Barack Obama's Presidential Staff, Trump's Staff is more bellicose  and decisive, if Russia will accept the challenge and not soften its  position, than serious confrontation between these powers will be  observed soon", the expert stressed adding that the escalation does  not indicate the start of 3rd World War.

According to him, current US authorities are decisive in protection  of their own interests and if Iran, China and Russia will not go for  following rules dictated by them, they will implement tough actions.  "Trump's last decision, to draw USS Naval group to North Korea,  states that. This time Washington won't be kidding, and Trump stated  about it periodically", the expert said.

To note, the escalation of the situation in Syria, started from  abuses addressed to Syrian Government implementing chemical armament  in province of Idlib and followed by US missile strike on Syrian base  of Shayrat is getting active. General Secretary Rex Tillerson arrived  in Moscow on April 11 from Italian city Lucca, where MFA heads of Big  Seven countries the influence ways to Russia in order to change its  relation to Bashar Assad. Tillerson stated that Damascus support does  not respond Moscow's strategic interests.
