
ArmInfo. Considering the unexpectedly low results of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party in Yerevan during the parliamentary elections on April 2, the ARF does not participate in the elections of the city council of elders, which will be held on May 15.
As stated ARFD, ArmInfo reports, the party took this decision on the basis of consultations with the Dashnaktsutyun capital offices.
The party also emphasizes that at present it is a priority for it to analyze the results of the parliamentary elections (ARF received about 7% of the vote - 7 seats) and taking appropriate decisions on this basis.
At the same time, the party assures that refusal to participate in the capital elections does not mean that it will not focus on the problem of development of Yerevan.
Today, the party "Armenian Revival" also announced its refusal to participate in the capital elections. IT motivated the refusal by the results of the past parliamentary elections were due to the widespread use of the administrative resource and the massive bribery of voters.
Earlier, the Communist Party also refused to participate in the elections in the capital.
Bloc "Tsarukyan" has not yet decided the list to the council of elders in the capital. It is possible that it will not participated in the Yerevan elections.
Mayor Taron Margaryan will head the list of the Republican Party, the second will be Grand Master Smbat Lputyan, the third, "Synopsis" head Hovik Musaelyan.
From the bloc "Yelk" the list to the council of elders will be headed by one of its leaders, Nikol Pashinyan. The first number of the bloc, deputy Edmond Marukyan, will head the pre-electoral headquarters.
The newly-created Yerkir Tsirani party, whose list will be headed by its leader Zaruhi Postanjyan, will also participate in the elections in the capital.
According to the forecasts of experts, Taron Margaryan will again become the Mayor of Yerevan.
