ArmInfo. Tim Wilson, the member of AustralianParliament House of Representatives, raised an issue of cultural genocide of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey
During his speech he mentioned that beside Armenian massacres, there was an attempt to destroy Armenian culture. The elimination of cultural legacy was an intended attempt to destroy not only Armenians, but any evidences of those as well. Hence, that was not only a human genocide. That was a cultural genocide too," he accentuated.
Wilson mentioned also that a lot of proofs of Armenian cultural legacy elimination could be found at the website of Armenian Genocide Museum. " The main purpose of the Ottoman Empire was to destroy the life and the culture of Armenian nation," the politician said, adding that everyone should do everything to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Currently in Australia Armenian genocide is officially adjudicated at two states - New Southern Wales and Southern Australia.
