Ministry of Transport, Communications and IT is ready to assist  Armenia`s communication operators

ArmInfo. Ministry of Transport, Communications and IT is ready to contribute to all  carriers operating in Armenia, contributing to improve the quality of  telecommunications services. On February 20, the Minister of  Transport, Communications and IT Vahan Martirosyan said to Beeline  CEO in Armenia Andrey Pyatakhin during a visit to the company  "ArmenTel".  

As the press service of the Ministry told ArmInfo, the  sides discussed the current challenges and prospects for the  development of telecommunications. During the meeting A.Pyatakhin  noted that in conditions of increased competition from OTT  application (over-the-top) (as in the case of other operators),  number of subscribers using Beeline voice services decreases, and  this leads to a reduction in revenue, particularly through  international calls. In this regard, the CEO said that the company is  changing its strategy and business model, making the transition from  voice and data services to digital services, particularly in  providing mobile Internet platform, financial, television and other  services. 

To the question of the Minister with respect to the prices for  roaming, A. Pyatakhin answered, "Beeline has revised the pricing of  calls while roaming". However, he stressed that the company in  Armenia offers the lowest tariffs for roaming services in all areas.

According to National Statistical Service of Armenia, in 2016  connection sector revenue amounted to 152 billion AMD, having  decreased on annual basis by 9.5% (against a decline of 6.3% a year  earlier). The dominant in the field of communications is the  telecommunications segment - 94.2%, which provided revenue of 143  billion AMD, having reduced it by 21.5% per annum (against decline of  6.7% in 2015).
