ArmInfo. The Government of Armenia held an extraordinary sitting on Feb 13.
The press office of the Government has told ArmInfo that the 9 Feb 2017 decision "On Armenian Government's initiative to convene an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly" was declared invalid. Minister-Head of the Armenian Government Staff David Harutyunyan said that following consultations with the Parliament, the sides arrived at a conclusion that the issues of the extraordinary sitting agenda can be considered at the next four-day session of the Parliament, which will kick off on Feb 27.
The Government approved the draft law on amendments to the Armenian Law "On Administrative Violations" and declared it urgent. Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan stressed that the adoption of the draft law is dictated by the need to bring a number of provisions of the law in compliance with two new articles of the Code. The matter concerns the failure to implement or improper implementation of functions by the person in charge of maintenance of the equipment that registers the voters at the polling stations on the election day and the replacement of the equipment. The cases about violations will be considered within a one-month period. The draft law will be submitted for the consideration of the Parliament.
