ArmInfo.The arrest and the further extradition of the Russian- Israeli blog writer Alexander Lapshin causes deep concernm, reads the European Ombudsmen Institution's statement in the light of Lapshin's extradition by Belarus to Azerbaijan.
"The given case may lead to unacceptable situation with free speech violation in Mass Media. Considering the fact of the civilian society representatives' and journalists' visit to Karabach has an invaluable humanitarian significance and supports the objective information gaining, all the actions limiting the Mass Media democratic mission, are to be toughly convicted. The Lapshin's extradition is a real threat to Mass Media freedom and human rights. Besides, Lapshin's extradition causes concerns on real threat of tortures and non human treatment towards him", reads the statement.
On February 7, The Upper Court of Belarus rejected the Russian-Israeli blog writer Alexander Lapshins appeal on legitimacy and validity of Minsk City Court's decision, which on January 26 of 2017 adopted the decision of the Prosecutor General on his extradition by the request of Bacu. In the evening of the same day his was taken to Bacu. During the Armenian Natianal Assambly meeting the Armenian deputies demanded to exclude Belarus from OSCE, EEU and withdraw the Armenian Ambassador from Minsk.
