ArmInfo.Armenia joined to 16th Additional Protocol of the Council of Europe On Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom According to the information of the press office of Armenian Foreign Ministry, Parujr Hovhannisyan, Armenian representative to EC, submitted the ratified copy of the document stating Armenia joins the protocol mentioned, to Gabriela Battaini Dragoni, the Deputy Secretary General, during their meeting on January 31.
At that, Hovhannisyan mentioned that the 16th Protocol, which is comparatively new document in the conventional system of ES, w has been called to life at the Minisers' Committee of the organization during May-November 2013, due to efforts of Armenian chairmanship. Armenian representative accentuated the importance of this document, and the fact that it will improve the cooperation between Strasbourg court and the justice system of Armenia.
In her turn, Battaini Dragoni expressed highest appreciation of Armenian efforts at CE - particularly, in respect to improvement of conventional tools of the Organization. She mentioned at the same time, that Armenia is the seveth country ratified the 16th additional agreement. She added, that this document will come in power soon, once it is approved by three more CE member countries.
Parties discussed bilateral agenda issues, as well as the Armenia-CE cooperation.
