


ArmInfo. Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan met with First Deputy Defense Minister of Russia Ruslan Tsalikov, who arrived in Armenia to attend the events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Armenian Armed Forces.
The press office of the Armenian Defense Ministry has told ArmInfo that the First Defense Minister of Armenia David Tonoyan, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin, Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of Russia, Lt.-Gen. Alexander Romanchuk and others were present at the meeting.
The meeting covered the whole spectrum of the agenda of the Armenian-Russian bilateral cooperation in military and military-technical dimensions and outlined the further steps.
Ruslan Tsalikov said that he visited the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri, inspected the material and technical base and infrastructure, and familiarized himself with the social and living conditions of the servicemen. For his part, Vigen Sargsyan noted that the Armenian-Russian cooperation and the Russian 102nd military base in Armenia are important factors ensuring regional security and stability. Minister Sargsyan pointed out that the Armenian side is willing to keep providing humanitarian aid to Syria and the next lot of aid will be sent within the next few days.
