ArmInfo. On December 6, Gagik Tsarukyan met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Arinj village, Zhamanak daily reports.
The source says that the face-to-face meeting lasted for over three hours. "Issues related to Tsarukyan's return to mainstream politics and possible post-electoral cooperation were presumably specified at the meeting," the newspaper says.
To note, earlier Tsarukyan ruled out any possible return to politics. Meanwhile, ArmInfo previously reported, citing the sources close to the presidential administration that Tsarukyan and President Serzh Sargsyan had reached an agreement on Tsarukyan's return to mainstream politics and joining the coalition with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia after the parliamentary elections in April 2017.
On Dec 5, Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) chairperson Naira Zohrabyan said that Gagik Tsarukyan is returning to politics at the request of numerous citizens of Armenia. She noted that Tsarukyan will unambiguously act in the opposition field, given that "the PAP has not changed its political course". She added that Tsarukyan may lead the party again. Tsarukyan will shortly issue a statement.
