Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated at the press conference dedicated to 8th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Eastern Partnership member countieis.
Armenian Minister mentioned, that this is the second meeting in Yerevan in such a format, and the first was held in September 2013. "We had effective discussions in respect to all the issues having importance within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. We also referred to Riga Summit results, which are very significant for EU and partnership development," Armenian Minister stated. He reminded, that the Riga Summit Final Declaration put the appropriate accents and highlighted main dimensions of the cooperation between partnership members and their partners, both for bilateral and multilateral development.
According to Nalbandian, in recent two years the implementation of the Riga Summit Declaration is in the focus of attention of Armenia, and Armenia has reached essential results in this field. " We launched negotiations in respect to new framework Agreement between Armenia and EU, and parties succeeded in reaching a certain progress. We have also joined a number of EU projects, particularly, to the Project on COSME ) competitiveness of small and medium business enterprises), statrted a process of joining to the "Creative Europe" initiative, etc," Nalbandian said. He also mentioned in this context, that consultations with EU regarding 2017-2020 Partnership program have been started as well.
Taking the opportunity, Ar menian Foreign Minister thanked EU for the support and help, being provided to Armenia during all these years, which, according to Nalbandian, played an essential role in the implementation of reforms and improvement of institutions.
Hahn mentioned, that at Riga Summit a decision was taken to implement grouping in respect to ooperation aspects.
As Hahn said, one of the aspects is the essential support to small and medium business, because EU considers the improvement of economy as the main priority for the population life level. The second is the transport and the energy infrastructure. He stated the need to get from paperwork to real steps, and mentioned that the process should be mutual.
He also stated that he is informed in what conditions are the roads between Armenia and Georgia, and accentuated that an appropriate steps will be made in respect to this issue
