ArmInfo. Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan stated that he stands for the idea of creating "hotline" between Yerevan and Baku for prompt response on the events in Nagorno Karabakh.
"Let's suppose someone is firing on the Line of Contact and by our data it is the Azerbaijani side I am calling Azerbaijani President and saying: 'They are firing' and he checks the information", Sargsyan stated in an interview to General Director of Russia Today news agency Dmitry Kiselyov, RIA Novosti informs.
The President added that in 1990ies an attempt was made to create a hotline. "I was Armenia's Defense Minister that time we had established direct line with Azerbaijani Defense Minister. We could connect in case of emergency situations. But there is no such a line currently", he said.
