

ArmInfo. The general military investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has instituted a criminal case over the death of conscript serviceman Vardan Arakelyan.
The Investigative Committee's press office reports that necessary measures are being taken to reveal all the circumstances of his death. "Serviceman Vardan Arakelyan received a deadly gunshot wound at one of the military units of the NKR Defense Army in the northern section of the contact line," the source says.
According to the preliminary data of the Armenian Investigative Committee, on November 13, around 2:15 am, junior sergeant at one of the combat positions of the military unit broke the combat duty rules and fired from his automatic gun towards another combat position of the same military unit, deadly wounding assistant grenadier, common soldier Vardan Arakelyan.
"A criminal case has been instituted based on Article 365.3 (Violation of combat duty regulations committed under martial law, during war or military actions) of the Armenian Criminal Code. Investigation is being conducted to ensure comprehensive, unbiased and complete disclosure of all the circumstances of the incident," the press office of the Investigative Committee says.
