ArmInfo. Frontline detachments of Artsakh Defense Army have taken and will continue taking all the necessary actions for preventing Azerbaijani military adventure and returning to the ceasefire regime, Armenia's Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan stated on November 11 at parliament.
He noted that the situation on the Line of Contact of Artsakh and Azerbaijani troops has escalated again as the adversary fires the positions of NKR Defense Army in northeastern direction (Talish and Yarimdja) from 60mm and 82mm mortars.
Azerbaijan's Armed Forces violated the ceasefire regime over 85 times overnight. Last night the adversary fired over 1100 shots at the Karabakh positions. In addition, in the northern direction (Verin Chailu) of the contact line, the adversary used antitank hand grenades and 60mm mortars. On November 11 between 12:15pm and 3:30pm Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired 37 shots from mortars on Karabakh positions in Northeastern direction (Yarimdja village) and northern direction (Talish village). 13 shots were fired from 60mm mortars, 24 shots from 82mm mortars, the press-service of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Ministry informs. Besides, the adversary used small weapons of various calibers in eastern direction (Akna), as well as Black Arrow (8 shots) and Istiglal (25 shots) sniper rifles. Currently the situation on the frontline is relatively calm.
To note, earlier in his address to the veterans, Vardan Avetisyan called for special alertness on November 11 to 18, when Azerbaijan's armed forces will be conducting large-scale military exercises (the largest in their own history) involving over 60,000 servicemen, 700 missile launchers, 150 battle tanks and other armored vehicles, as well as nearly 50 war planes and helicopters.
