Armenian Army is  ready to rebuff any diversion of the enemy and to beat off   with an adequate strike,  said the Armenian Defense Minister  Vigen Sargsyan  during his interview to the "Armenia" TV Channel, commenting the failed  diversion attempt of the Azeri troops taken place on October 21.  

He mentioned that Armenian Army arranges its alert ready status  taking into consideration enemy's such provocations probability.  "Such intentions will keep on taking place unless, as the former  Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir said in time, ':they get to love  their children more, than they do hate us'.  Accordingly, we should  be permanently ready not only for a counterstrike, but also to held  punishing arrangements to prevent all such efforts," the minister  said.

Sargsyan stated that Armenian troops are well trained, and they  easily could deal with all the tasks assigned. "We acknowledged that  Azeris' behavior is aggressive and they use to declare permanently  their readiness and intention to give an armed showdown solution to  the Karabakh conflict. Hence, we were made to learn targeting and  solving difficult military tasks, and the present level of the combat  readiness is just a result of the long years efforts, creating a good  basis for the future,"- Sargsyan  mentioned. He added also that the  country shouldn't run for the military race and  -  vice versa -   should find some innovative solution in respect to the armament  purchase.

"We are being imposed a military race, but we should be able to be  meticulous about our future steps and to get ready not for yester  war, but for tomorrow one. But, taking this path, we should feasibly  estimate what do we have in our arsenal and what do we additionally  need to reach the ultimate result within minor resources,"- he  briefed. The Minister added thereat that it's necessary to improve  the military industries and to implement the "Nation- Army" concept,  which appears nowadays as one of the Government's priorities.   Sargsyan also expressed the opinion that the Armenian Army is just  the most complete state entity.  Answering the question regarding  territorial concessions within the peace talks, Sargsyan stated that  the mutual concessions and drawbacks threshold is to be estimated  during the talks, and approved by the Armed Forces Supreme Commander,  taking the advice of all the  parties. And the role of the Defense  Ministry is to improve the capacity of the army.

We recall that on October 20, around 11:23 PM, at the oriental and  southern parts of the Line of Contact of the Karabakh and Azeri  troops, the Azeri forces made an attempt of diversion. According to  the Nagorno Karabkh Defense Ministry Press Office, the avant-gardes  of the NKR Defense Army suppressed all the penetration attempts of  Azeri special forces. The enemy incurred losses and   was thrown back  to its positions. While kicking back the Azeri aggression, the NKR  Defense army didn't experience any casualties.
