ArmInfo. Former member of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Parliament Vahan Badasyan has urged Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan to inquire into corruption accusations against Armenian Armed Forces Chief, Lt. General Movses Hakobyan.
"As head of the inventory and logistics department of the Defense Ministry Movses Hakobyan abused his position, violated the law on procurements, signed an agreement on procurement between his own enterprises and the Defense Ministry on exaggerated prices and misappropriated several dozens of millions drams," Badasyan said urging the prime minister to bring Lt. General Hakobyan accountable or him, if his words are slander.
Earlier, MP Nikol Pashinyan alarmed about embezzlements in the field of food procurement for the Defense Ministry. He said farmers in Vardenis blocked the highway to Yerevan on October 16 protesting against supplier organizations that buy potato from them for 40 drams per kg and sell it to the Defense Ministry for a double price earning extra profits. The Defense Ministry has not commented the issue.
