Prosperous Armenia, Armenian Rebirth, and GALA political parties have made a joint statement wherein they say that the incumbent mayor's political party Balasanyan Bloc used administrative resource, gave bribes and made other violations during the local elections. The three parties threaten to boycott the meetings of the Gyumri town council if Balasanyan Bloc receives 17 seats in it.
They say if the Central Election Commission (CEC) adopts a decision that the ruling Balasanyan Bloc will have 17 seats in the Gyumri town council, they will dispute the decision in the court. The three parties declare that the results of the municipal elections in Gyumri are as follows: Balasanyan Bloc - 15 seats, Prosperous Armenia - 9 seats, Armenian Rebirth - 5 seats, GALA - 4 seats. In the meantime, CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyn announced the following results: Balasanyan Bloc - 17 seats, Prosperous Armenia - 8 seats, Armenian Rebirth - 4 seats, GALA - 4 seats.
By preliminary data, candidates from the RPA obtained the biggest number of votes in both Gyumri and Vanadzor. In Gyumri, the incumbent mayor Samvel Balasanyan received 34.64% of votes. The candidates nominated by the following political forces rank next: Prosperous Armenia - 21.7%, Armenian Rebirth - 10.62%, GALA - 10.49%, Solidarity - 5.77%, Spirit of Gyumri - 5.74%, ARF Dashnaktsutyun - 5.36%.
