ArmInfo.South Caucasus Railway CJSC reminds about the necessity to observe safety rules on the railway and urges citizens of Dzoraget and Dzakhi Dzor villages to withdraw dangerous practice of walking on the rail tracks.
Traffic on auto road from Dzoraget to Tumanyan has been suspended because of repair work in the tunnel. As a result the inhabitants of Dzoraget and Dzakhi Dzor started to pass this part by rail tracks. Particularly, people pass through railway tunnels, which are of 500m, 300m and 150 m length and reach Tumanyan station. The schoolchildren use the same path from Tumanyan station to reach the school that is located in Dzoraget.
Police of Lori region have already been informed about the situation and the necessity to take urgent steps to prevent people's illegal use of railway tracks and pass by the tunnels as this may lead to casualties and hinder safe movement of trains on the abovementioned part of the railway.
The SCR in its turn takes all the necessary measures to ensure safe railway traffic. Regular checks are made on the stations and railway tracks.
The Company urges inhabitants of Lori region not to endanger their lives trying to cut their way using railway tracks. The railway is not a place for foot-passengers. There is a bypass road, which is although longer but safer.
