ArmInfo. Armenia's Embassy in Italy has set a hotline for the citizens of Armenia injured in the recent devastating earthquake in that country. According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry press-office, the Hotline number is 390687788654.
Yet it is not known if there were Armenians among the victims of the devastating earthquake that left 247 people dead and several hundreds injured in Italy. The number of those feared dead is not known yet, as rescue activities continue, according to Italian media.
A strong, magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit Italy's center at 3.36am local time on August 24. The epicenter of the quake was near the town of Accumoli in the northeast of the Lazio region, 10km south-east of Norcia, a town in the province of Perugia. The quake, which was followed by a series of aftershocks up to an hour later, was felt across central Italy as far as Rome. Today early in the morning, another strong magnitude 4.7 quake hit the country. No new destructions are reported.
