A member of Sasna Tsrer group Pavlik Manukyan urges Andrias Ghukasyan, an activist of the Rise Up, Armenia movement, to stop his hunger strike. Both Manukyan and Ghukasyan were arrested during the recent events in Yerevan, when Sasna Tsrer group seized a police compound demanding among others the resignation of the president.
"We respect you method of fight, but we do care for your health. We need you alive. Our victory is close. We ask you to stop hunger strike and continue our common fight," Manukyan says in a letter sent through his lawyer.
Andrias Ghukasyan started his hunger strike on August 1. He is charged with Article 225.1 (organization of mass unrest) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
"I am a political prisoner and I demand the people to establish constitutional order in Armenia and restore justice with all possible methods," Ghukasyan posted on Facebook.
