"Protection of Rights without Borders" NGO has addressed an open letter to Armenian Health Minister Armen Muradyan.
The letter says that on August 1-3 the NGO representatives visited the citizens getting medical assistance at the medical institutions after the Armenian police used special means to disperse the demonstrations on July 29-30.
The organization stresses that the injured citizens have not been informed of their condition so far. Neither have they undergone proper examination.
In addition, the organization urges the health ministry to provide the citizens injured as a result of law- enforcers' actions with free medical assistance.
The NGO also stresses the need to provide psychological support to the citizens to avoid further health problems.
It was previously reported that according to the Health Ministry of Armenia, as of August 3, 16 out of the 73 people hospitalized following the dispersal of the peaceful demonstration in Khorenatsi Street in Yerevan and in Sari Tagh district on July 29 still remain at medial establishments of Armenia. Anahit Haytayan, Spokesperson for the Health Ministry, says that 16 people are still undergoing in-patient treatment. "Three of them are policemen and three are journalists", she says.
