
Observation Group of Armenian Police has visited detention facility of Yerevan, where it met with all the detainees including Armen Martirosyan, David Sanasaryan and Andreas Ghukasyan. It is informed that the Observation Group faced difficulties when trying to enter the building of the detention facility on July 30 as the Police had blocked the territory around the building, which according to the information created obstacles for handing over parcels and visits.
The Observation Group registered that activist Andreas Ghukasyan was severely beaten. He was offered ambulance service but he refused demanding presence of his personal doctor, the statement reads. The Observation Group informs that it had a long meeting with Deputy Chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan, who is in good condition and has no complaints against the administration of the detention facility. On July 31 Observation Group continued monitoring in the detention facility of Yerevan. However, the group was not allowed to enter. ''The Observation Group applies to Police of Armenia with a request to comment on the reasons why obstacles are created for the group's work'', the statement of the group reads. At the same time the members of the group stated that they have made a proposal to suspend work of the detention facility of Yerevan city and transfer the detainees to the regional facilities.
It was informed earlier, that activist Andrias Ghoukasyan who was detained on suspicion of organizing mass disorders in Yerevan has been severely beaten up at the detention facility, according to a member of the Anti-Crisis Council Saro Saroyan. In this light, Sarosyan applied to Zaruhi Postanjyan, the head of the Heritage Party, asking her to visit Ghukasyan and petition for his transfer to the medical point. “It is necessary to save him from cannibals,” Saroyan posted on Facebook.
