Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Hossein Zolfaghari said that the recent developments in Turkey and Armenia did not pose any threat to Iran, ISNA news agency informs.
According to the source Zolfagari said that Iranian border provinces got ready for controlling borders since conflicts started in Turkey.
Zolfaghari noted that comings and goings of vehicles from Iran to Turkey went back to the routine since 4:00 pm on Saturday.
He further reiterated that no Turkish individual or official has visited Iran over last few days.
To recall, an attempt of military coup took place in Turkey in the night of July 15. The authorities say that they control the situation. . At least 90 people (including 17 policemen) were killed.
To recall, Artsakh war hero Zhirayr Sefilyan's armed supporters, who seized the building of the Patrol-Guard Service Regiment in Erebuni district of Yerevan on Sunday morning, are still holding the police as hostages. Deputy Head of the Patrol- Guard Service Regiment, Colonel Artur Vanoyan was killed in the incident. Armenian MP Nikol Pashinyan says that during his visit to the Erebuni Police Department building he saw 26 members of the "Sasna Tsrer" group. By various data, the armed group is currently holding 4-5 people as hostages.
