US President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation on Wednesday. Barack Obama expressed his willingness to speed up the US efforts towards settlement of the Karabakh conflict, RIA Novosti reports.
President Obama expressed his readiness to intensify efforts together with Russia and France to achieve a comprehensive settlement to the conflict, the White House's statement says.
Earlier the Kremlin reported that Putin had informed Obama as the head of a co-chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group about the results of his trilateral meeting with the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in St. Petersburg on June 20. The source said that Obama praised Russia's efforts.
