"Only non-adequate person can make such a comment on the visit of Artsakh high ranking officials to other countries", Spokesman of Nagorno-Karabakh President David Babayan told ArmInfo's correspondent commenting on the Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Spokesman statement that Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan has visited Europe allegedly with fake documents. "I think that sane person can not make such statements", he said. According to Babayan it is not a secret how difficult it is to obtain a Schengen visa how many documents one need to present and how many procedures to undergo especially if it relates to heads of states. Thus, such allegations are senseless.
"I suppose that the Azerbaijani official's statements are driven by two factors: Azerbaijan's inability to isolate Nagorno-Karabakh from external world and the attempt to indirectly blackmail the international community. By such actions Azerbaijan is trying to exert pressure on certain states so that they ban Nagorno Karabakh citizens from visiting their countries. I consider Baku's such behavior inadmissible as it breaches principles of international humanitarian law", Babayan summarized.
To recall, Hikmat Hajiyev, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, commenting on the Artsakh President's visit to Brussels said that the visit is nothing but a tourist trip. According to the spokesman, Bako Sahakyan, having the Armenian diplomatic passport, provided false information about his identity and place of residence while obtaining a Schengen visa. Eastern Partnership countries impose sanctions on such persons when issuing Schengen visas, however, despite the fact that Bako Sahakyan submitted false information and fake documents, a Schengen visa was issued to him," he added.
To recall, on June 7-10 the delegation at the head of Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan was in Belgium with a working visit.
