Washington and Brussels welcome Minsk co-chairs' efforts aimed at peaceful settlement

Co-chairs aim to develop progress achieved in Vienna, as well as launch negotiations on comprehensive peaceful agreement, US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta said while commenting on negotiations regarding Nagorno Karabakh, APA reports. Mentioning the meeting of the co-chairs with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Brussels on May 31 the ambassador said they will meet with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on June 2. 

Meanwhile, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Malena Mard told APA that the Vienna meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the possible holding of the next meeting is a very positive  indicator.  "The EU welcomes such steps being taken toward the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict. The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are also working hard to hold the next meeting of the presidents," APA quotes Mard as saying. 

To note, James Warlick, US Co- Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, tweeted yesterday that OSCE Minsk Group hopes the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents will take place in June.
