May 9 events attached to Victory Day as well as liberation of Shushi and establishment of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army will be held without special festivities in Nagorno-Karabakh as 40 days from death of Armenian servicemen who heroically died during defending Artsakh from Azerbaijan aggression in early April have not passed yet, Spokesman of Nagorno- Karabakh president David Babayan told ArmInfo's correspondent.
"Traditionally we celebrate this day on a large scale but this year the events will be specific without concerts, fireworks and salutes, a decision was made to refran from such entertainment programs. During the April aggression our soldiers, officers heroically gave their lives defending the Homeland and as 40 days have not passed yet we will hold only parade, which will be attended by the high ranking officials from Armenia and Diaspora. Visit of foreign guests is also planned", Babayan noted.
To note, according to ArmInfo's information, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan who traditionally attends the parade in Stepanakert will not attend it this year. It is not known yet who from high-ranking Armenian officials will attend parade in Nagorno Karabakh.
