PACE President Pedro Agramunt provided privileges to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu so that he could voice his provocative statements on Karabakh, Naira Zohrabyan, member of the Armenian Delegation to PACE, has told ArmInfo.
She says that the members of the Armenian Delegation had numerous questions to Davutoglu regarding both his statements at PACE and Azerbaijan's aggression in Artsakh, however, they failed to ask their questions to him, because the Turkish prime minister violated the time-limit and delivered his speech within 50 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
"The time-limit for speeches at PACE is 30 minutes. As a rule, the speech is followed by 30 minutes of questions and answers, however, Agramunt provided Davutoglu with privileges, giving him 50 minutes for the speech and leaving no time for questions," Zohrabyan says. She also notes that there were hundreds of Turks in the hall and they were loudly applauding after each "gold thought" of Davutoglu.
To note, in his speech at PACE, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the big losses in the latest escalation in Nagorno- Karabakh demonstrate that the status quo cannot remain the same. He noted that the ceasefire violation may influence the situation in Nakhijevan and that this causes big concerns. "The international community and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs must warn Armenia that it is unacceptable to violate the ceasefire and to undertake military provocations. As a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, Turkey supports the efforts towards peaceful resolution of the conflict," Davutoglu said, adding that Turkey will keep supporting Azerbaijan "in liberating the occupied territories as soon as possible".
