The New Armenia Front stresses the need to form legitimate power and ensure the army's fighting efficiency needed for stable peace, the New Armenia Front says in a statement that presents emergency steps aimed at overcoming the security crisis.
The authors point out that it has become obvious during the Azerbaijani aggression along the line of contact of the Artsakh and Azerbaijani troops that the foreign and domestic policy of Armenia has failed. The statement stresses that the international community, including Armenia's strategic partner Russia and the CSTO member states have not recognized Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh. "This has resulted in a security vacuum, which should be filled at the expense of the potential of the Armenians worldwide. To ensure the required level of combativity, it is necessary to enhance the efficiency of the defense system management due to significant changes, as well as to concentrate the necessary financial means in the hands of the state, and to increase the armed forces, first of all, at the expense of police troops", the statement says. The members of the New Armenia Front also think it necessary to hold snap presidential and parliamentary elections, to form a government enjoying public confidence and to appoint a person enjoying the confidence of the army and the society as the supreme commander-in-chief.
The New Armenia Front emphasizes that the UN Security Council and PACE should adopt resolutions condemning Baku's aggression. It is also necessary to initiate the process of recognition of Artsakh by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
