The attack on the house of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan should be considered in the context of intra-power conflicts, Deputy Head of Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan has told ArmInfo. Martirosyan thinks that such situations are typical to intra-power conflicts. However, he thinks that the incumbent and the first presidents of Armenia have decided to blame the second president Robert Kocharyan for all flaws and shortcomings. "Anyway, Levon Ter-Petrosyan's latest interview pursued that very goal," Martirosyan says. He is convinced that the current situation in the country - large-scale corruption and human rights violation, as well as the numerous losses in the recent escalation in the Karabakh conflict zone - are the result of the failed policy of all the three presidents. "The country needs radical reforms. I do not think anyone of the three presidents can do it," he says. As regards the opinion that some forces tried to frighten Kocharyan by their attack, Martirosyan says, "Taking into account the rigid nature and the severe temper of the second president, I do not think he can be frightened this way". ArmInfo has failed to get any comments from other political forces. The representatives of the Armenian National Congress and the Republican Party of Armenia refused to comment on it. The second president's spokesman Viktor Soghomonyan did not answer the phone. Earlier, it was reported that an unknown person threw a grenade towards the house of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan from a car. The person has not been identified yet. The alarm response group of the Armenian Police found out that it was a training grenade and it was thrown towards the main entrance. Robert Kocharyan was not at home when the incident happened. To note, in his latest interview to ilur.am, the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan said that Kocharyan deprived Karabakh of the status of an internationally recognized equal party to the conflict. "Serzh Sargsyan inherited all this from Kocharyan and his share of responsibility is not bigger than the share of responsibility of other members of the Kocharyan administration," he said.
