

Nothing should hinder strengthening of Armenia's Eurasian integration even changing the place of holding of EEC session from Yerevan to Moscow, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated during a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart Hovik Abrahamyan on April 7.
According to Prime Minister Medvedev trade-economic relations were the main topic of negotiations. "Despite the non favorable world environment we have not bad dynamics of cooperation. Russia remains Armenia's main trade-economic partner", Medvedev stated. The turnover already exceeds 1 bln 250 mln USD, he stated emphasizing that the indicators have slightly declined but mainly due to fluctuation of prices on food, and not because of drop of the amounts. As the Russian Prime Minsiter informed the total amount of Russian accumulated capital investments remains on high level- 4 bln USD. Around 1300 Russian enterprises function in the country.
Medvedev also informed that documents on development of cooperation in the fields of space exploration for peaceful purposes, in urban development, environment protection, and medical-sanitary control have been signed. He also informed that agreements on energy issues have been reached.
Summing up his speech Medvedev mentioned that in overall the results of the held negotiations are satisfying. "I am sure that today's negotiations will contribute to strengthening of our cooperation and will make it more beneficial and successful. Russia has been and will remain Armenia's reliable partner and friend", Medvedev assured.
