Armenia is disappointed that Russia and other members of CSTO sell weapons to Azerbaijan, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated during a press conference in Berlin on April 6.
"Russia is Armenia's strategic ally and we are in the same system of security: CSTO. Naturally, we are disappointed that Russia and other members of this organization sell weapons to Azerbaijan, but we clearly realize that our opportunities to influence on this process are restricted", he emphasized.
Sargsyan also noted that Azerbaijan has more modern equipment and these three-day military operations demonstrated that these weapons function well. "However, in my opinion the power is not only in the modern weapons and the number of tanks but in the faith, which Armenians and Artsakh people have and who are ready to defend their homeland at any price. We are using weapons of 80ies but the three-day conflict showed each side's strength, how many losses the Armenian side had and how many had the Azerbaijani side, the conflict also showed how we treat each loss and our society, by informing it each minute about the losses and injured. You will not find such information in Azerbaijan. War is a very bad thing but this three-day war demonstrated that it is easier to fight in a free society, as consolidation gives strength and this is the real power", the President stressed.
To note, during the recent military actions in Karabakh the Azerbaijani side used also military weapons purchased from Russia.
