Azerbaijan is mocking the international community, deceiving it with false statements, David Babayan, Spokesman for Nagorno-Karabakh President, has told ArmInfo. He says that the night was rather tense. The Azerbaijani armed forces tried to cross the border into Nagorno-Karabakh in several places but failed, however, they keep shooting intensively.
Babayan thinks that Azerbaijan is mocking the international community, deceiving it with its false statements. “We have never trusted those statements, because we realized whom we dealt with. Azerbaijan is a terrorist, criminal state,” Babayan stresses. It is noteworthy that Baku has publicly stated that Azerbaijan itself has initiated the escalation, the NKR official says. “At the same time, the international community still maintains parity in its statements, although we have repeatedly called upon them to make specific statements.
The party that initiates ceasefire violations must be held accountable,” the NKR President Spokesman says.
On April 1 night, the Azerbaijani army attacked the positions of the NKR Defense Army along the entire line of contact, using artillery, armored vehicles and air force. The adversary targeted also the populated areas and civil facilities. Fierce battles are still going on along the line of contact. The Armenian Air Defense Forces took retaliatory measures, shooting down 2 Azerbaijani military helicopters, 3 drones, and destroying 5 battle tanks. The adversary has suffered serious human losses (over 200 people). The Armenian side has also suffered losses – 18 victims and 35 wounded. On April 3 morning, Azerbaijan resumed its aggressive actions on the southern section of the line of contact, using artillery and armored vehicles. The situation remains critically tense.
