Artak Zakaryan: Baku officially ignores the stand of Moscow, Washington and Paris

It is time for the OSCE Minsk Group to abandon the diplomatic parity in its statements and look at the reality with wide open eyes, Artak Zakaryan, Head of the Armenian Standing Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, says on his Facebook page.      

He says that amid the efforts of the mediators Azerbaijan is trying to switch from the ceasefire violations to undeclared war. Zakaryan notes that at Ankara's instigation, Baku officially ignores the stand of Moscow, Washington and Paris. "In such a situation, any preventive measures of the Armenian side must enjoy the open support of the mediators," he says, noting that this is the only real guarantee of maintaining the international format and its efforts towards peaceful resolution of the conflict. "The political impudence of Baku must be assessed properly," Zakaryan says.           

On April 1 night, the Azerbaijani army attacked the positions of the NKR Defense Army along the entire line of contact, using artillery, armored vehicles and air force. The adversary targeted also the populated areas and civil facilities. Fierce battles are still going on along the line of contact. The Armenian Air Defense Forces took retaliatory measures, shooting down 2 Azerbaijani military helicopters, 2 drones, and destroying 3 battle tanks.
