Accused in spying for Azerbaijan do not admit their guilt

The first court session on the case of 4 Armenians Rafik Papoyan, Karina Gumashyan, Sergey Papoyan and Diana Goroyan, who are accused in spying for Azerbaijan, was held on January 25. 

According to the criminal information, a representative of Azerbaijan's secret service recruited Rafik Papoyan in Turkey. Later Rafik's son Sergey Papoyan was also involved in spying. He had planned to become a serviceman in one of military units in Mataghis and establish contact with the recruiting agent via internet. Karina Gumashyan was requited in 2013. The second woman Diana Goroyan is accused in knowing about the treason against the state and not informing about it. None of the accused admit their guilt. 
The next court session will take place on February 10.
