On December 3, 2015, the ICRC representatives visited the Armenian prisoner of war Arsen Baghdasaryan, who crossed the line of contact into Azerbaijan on December 26, 2014.
The ICRC representatives enabled Baghdasaryan to exchange domestic information with his relatives, Zara Amatuni, Head of Communication and Prevention Programmes at the ICRC Yerevan Office, has told ArmInfo.
"The visit was conducted within the framework of the ICRC standard procedures. In line with its mandate, the ICRC visits the persons in custody to monitor the conditions of incarceration and treatment, as well as to give them an opportunity to keep in touch with their relatives," says Amatuni.
To note, the Azerbaijani court sentenced Arsen Baghdasaryan to 15 years in jail under a fabricated case.
