Since early morning today, on June 24, the Police and parliamentarians have been persuading the protesters against rising electricity rate to leave Bagharamyan Ave, one of the central streets in the city.
According to ArmInfo's correspondent on the spot, Deputy Head of the Armenian Police Hunan Poghosyan has suggested the protesters to continue the rally in the Liberty Square, and stop blocking the Baghramyan Ave not to impede the functioning of the state and diplomatic organizations (president's residence, parliament) and movement of citizens and traffic. However, the suggestion angered the protesters who declared that they are awaiting new groups of protesters to join them and start the rally in front of the president's administration.
Parliamentarians Khachatur Kokobelyan, Nikol Pashinyan, Tevan Poghosyan, Aghvan Vardanyan and others ask the protesters to leave and gather in the Liberty Square in the evening. The parliamentarians explain their suggestion with the not large number of the protesters on the Baghramyan Ave - some 1200- 1300 people. However, the protesters did not accept the proposal of the parliamentarians either.
