ArmInfo. At Multi Tabak, a company owned by Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan, products worth 3.7 billion drams (approximately $10 million - ed.) have become unusable. Lawyer Emin Khachatryan said this in a conversation with reporters outside the courthouse where the decision to extend Tsarukyan's arrest was announced.
According to the lawyer, the courts of first instance found the actions of the investigative bodies against Multi Tabak, Olympavan, Multi Stone, and Euromotors to be unlawful. Khachatryan recalled that the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia subsequently appealed these decisions. "However, the Court of Appeals rejected the prosecutor's office's appeals regarding three companies," the lawyer said.
When asked whether the companies had resumed operations following the court rulings, Khachatryan replied that they had not yet. He believes the matter will be resolved after all court proceedings have been completed. The lawyer also stated that, given the current situation, special commissions have been created and appeals have been submitted to relevant government agencies, including the Food Safety Inspectorate, to assess the damage caused to businesses as a result of government actions.
"At Multi Tabak alone, products worth 3.7 billion drams (approximately $10 million - ed.) were damaged. This concerns goods that were in the warehouse. All losses incurred have been recorded in accordance with the established procedure." A commission was formed for this purpose, and a commodity expert was brought in to document the losses, including through video recordings. The relevant procedures will be initiated in the near future," the lawyer concluded.
As a reminder, in October 2026, the Compulsory Enforcement Service of Armenia, based on decisions of the Anti-Corruption Court, imposed a large-scale seizure of property and assets associated with Tsarukyan. Approximately 29 real estate properties, 33 vehicles, and 488 units of movable property were seized. A separate ban on changes in ownership was imposed on Tsarukyan's properties in the coastal area of Lake Sevan. Shares in 27 different companies owned by Tsarukyan himself, as well as the shares and stocks of 40 legal entities associated with him, were also seized.
