An inventory of frescoes will be conducted in Armenia and their condition will be assessed.

ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia and the Fresco-For Monumental Heritage Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at preserving immovable historical and cultural monuments in Armenia, particularly frescoes.

As part of the cooperation, the Ministry will provide a list of such frescoes in the Republic and, in accordance with established procedures, review the scientific and design documentation for their cleaning and strengthening and provide a professional opinion. Based on the approved scientific and design documentation, the Ministry will issue permits for the cleaning and strengthening of the frescoes and provide expert and legal advice during the process.

Fresco-For Monumental Heritage Foundation At its own expense, the Foundation will study 19th-century frescoes in the village of Sers in the Vayots Dzor region, prepare scientific design documentation for their cleaning and strengthening, and submit it to the ministry for approval.

The Foundation will also, at its own expense, conduct a systematic study of frescoes in Armenia, including their description, assessment of their technical condition and the degree of threat to their preservation, document them, and compile updated lists, which it will submit to the relevant department.
