ArmInfo. The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) agreement can be ratified only after the Armenian government provides three guarantees, believes Deputy Chairman of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan. In his words, these include: a cartographic guarantee, a legal guarantee, and a contractual guarantee.
Zurabyan noted that the cartographic guarantee should answer the question of whether the exclusive territory of TRIPP could include land plots necessary for an independent Armenia-Iran railway.
The politician noted that the legal guarantee concerns Armenia's right to construct the Gagarin-Agarak-Iran railway or another direct railway without the consent of TDC (a US-Armenia joint venture created to develop the TRIPP transport corridor) or the US.
"And the contractual guarantee requires this right to be clearly enshrined in the TDC charter, the shareholders' agreement, and subsequent concession agreements. If all this is not done, the ratification of TRIPP in the National Assembly will be another serious blow to our sovereignty from these authorities." "I call on the parliamentary opposition to raise these issues in parliament," Zurabyan concluded.
It should be noted that the ratification of TRIP is being discussed in the Armenian parliament today.
