Armenia and Germany signed a declaration on cooperation in environmental protection

ArmInfo. Armenia and Germany signed a declaration on cooperation in environmental protection at the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), currently underway in Yerevan.

The document covers biodiversity conservation and restoration, protected area management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, circular economy development, and waste management. According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, special attention is paid to the effective management of water resources and the preservation of Lake Sevan.

The declaration opens new opportunities for the implementation of joint programs, the exchange of experience, and the development of professional capacity. According to the source, the document was signed by Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan and German Federal Minister for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Carsten Schneider.
