ArmInfo. Wherever there is “Strong Armenia,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ruling Civil Contract party loses its wings and is restricted in its capabilities, believes Narek Karapetyan, head of the parliamentary faction of the Strong Armenia bloc.
The politician recalled that in the elections to local self-government bodies, Strong Armenia participated in only one community. “And where we participated, the Civil Contract party received a record-low percentage, taking only second place and failing to secure victory. Moreover, it is now forced to negotiate in order to be given some coalition deputy post. This shows that wherever there is Strong Armenia, Civil Contract loses its wings and its capabilities are restricted. At the same time, however, I am concerned about the situation unfolding in other regions. Where there is no Strong Armenia, Civil Contract manages to establish complete dominance—as a result of pressure,” Karapetyan noted in a video address on his Facebook page
In this regard, he emphasized that, in his view, the only force capable of effectively fighting at the local level and organizing this struggle in the current political landscape remains Strong Armenia. He added that it is their work that will determine the extent to which the capabilities of Armenia’s current authorities will be restricted.
Referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s message on social media today that the ruling force had defeated agent forces, Karapetyan advised the Armenian prime minister to be cautious in his statements about agents.
