ArmInfo. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan issued a corresponding order during a working meeting of the City Hall on October 26.

He noted that the next stage of public transportation reforms should be the replacement of Higer buses with electric buses. In this regard, the mayor instructed the Transport Department to exclusively purchase electric buses in the next tender.

Furthermore, the mayor touched on the work to create separate bus lanes, noting the effectiveness of this solution. Avinyan emphasized that dedicated bus lanes significantly improve the quality of public transportation and positively impact bus frequency.

Addressing those responsible, he stated that he expects to see a program this year outlining all the steps for creating dedicated lanes for public transportation and bicycles, step by step and with specific deadlines.
