Yerevan and Beijing intend to expand exchange of experience in urban management – City Hall

ArmInfo. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan met with Beijing Mayor Wen Xiang, who arrived in the country to participate in the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to discuss prospects for developing partnerships between the two capitals in the area of urban governance.

According to the Yerevan City Hall press service, Avinyan emphasized the importance of the existing cooperation between Yerevan and Beijing and drew attention to areas of interest to Yerevan for the exchange of experience. Specifically, he highlighted traffic management and air pollution reduction as strategic priorities.

The Yerevan Mayor also presented ongoing and planned projects in various sectors of the city's economy aimed at implementing data-driven management and applying systemic solutions. In turn, Wen stated that Beijing is ready to share with Yerevan its successful experience and accumulated knowledge in the field of urban management, contributing to the deepening of cooperation between the two capitals and the exchange of effective solutions.
